InkScape June 30

I have an obsession with hands. There are so many artistic ways to do them. I want to draw the perfect hand. But I don’t want it to just be a photograph. There is something about hands that I find compelling to draw. They can be very simple. But more often then not they can express a deeper meaning. This hand is sharp and straight. It’s a cartoonish hand that doesn’t look real. But it’s got the correct number of digits which is more than I can say for some of the fake art that the internet increasingly shows me.

  1. The only critique I can make to this particular hand is that it seems like it is bent, because of the pointedness of the left side of the hand, but the tendon lines do not bend also. But maybe that’s just me. I haven’t studied hands as much as you. The part of my hand only sticks out if my hand is bent or my fingers are together, not when my fingers are apart.

    1. I wasn’t looking at my actual hand to draw this one. But yes it did end up a little lopsided. Thank you for the encouragement.

      1. Mostly it seems like a magician’s hand right before something happens.
